Coaches Code of Conduct

As per FAW Welfare Regulations

  1. Remember children participate for pleasure and that winning is only part of the fun.
  2. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing.
  3. Be reasonable in your demands on young players time, energy and enthusiasm. Remember their priorities may be different from yours!
  4. Teach your players to follow the rules. To respect officials and opponents.
  5. Whenever possible, group players to ensure that everyone has a reasonable chance of success.
  6. Avoid overplaying the talented players. The just average need and deserve equal time.
  7. Ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of the players. That all equipment is prepared ready for use before each session.
  8. Develop the team's respect for the ability of opponents and for the judgement of officials and opposing coaches.
  9. Follow the advice of a physician or club medical officer when determining when an injured player is ready to recommence training or playing.
  10. Keep up to date with the latest coaching practices and the principals.
  11. Be fully aware of the growth and development of children.
  12. Complete as designated the players assessment records.
  13. Report immediately to the Club Welfare Officer any complaint regarding yourself or another coach.
  14. Ensure confidentiality regarding players under your charge.
